Located at one of the great traditional crossroads of Ireland, deep in the heart of racing country, the Horse & Jockey Hotel has been known as one of Ireland’s great meeting places for over 250 years. The original bar has been standing for over 250 years where a village of the same name grew up around it.  

Family run by the Egan family & their wonderful team, there have been many expansions throughout the years. Today stands a unique hotel. It is many things to many people. Whether a local, a weary traveller off the busy road, overnight guests or racing folk returning for the many local courses, all are most welcome and all join together to create the legendary ‘jockey’ atmosphere of which we are very proud.

 A village of amenities can be found in the hotel, from our 67 comfortable bedrooms, coffee bars, in-house bakery, spa & pool to the cosy Enclosure Bar and two retail shops there is much to do. Racing is at the heart of the hotel with the passion coming from the owner Tom who has adorned the walls with original equestrian art & photography. With three national hunt tracks nearby along with many major training yards, live action is never far away.’
