Horse racing professionals are obsessive, passionate people, completely consumed by what they do. This obsession is driven by a deep love for the thoroughbred horse, surely one of nature’s greatest creations. Take a private tour of the Curragh Racecourse in the company of Paul Keane and share his passion and love for horse racing.

Paul will take you behind the scenes at the racecourse, to locations that are strictly off-limits on race days. Starting in the depths of the grandstand, in the inner sanctum of the jockeys changing room, Paul will describe the life of professional jockeys and the remarkable attributes of elite riders, such as Frankie Dettori, a regular competitor at the Curragh. From here you will follow in the footsteps of racehorse trainers, carrying a jockey’s saddle to the saddling boxes. Paul will describe the feelings and emotions experienced by owners, trainers and grooms before a race. You will assist Paul tacking up a mannequin racehorse before heading to the Curragh parade ring and the winner’s podium to capture that Instagram photo opportunity. From here Paul will guide you to the top floor of the grandstand, a VIP area, where you will see racehorses exercise on the famous Curragh gallops below while absorbing the stunning views of the Curragh racecourse and surrounding countryside. Tea and coffee will be served at the conclusion of the tour.

This privileged access experience includes to the historic Queen’s Room with racing historian, Jim Kavanagh. Tea/coffee & freshly baked cookies Optional Add-Ons:

• Private lunch in the St. Leger Restaurant.

• A surprise meet & greet with a professional jockey. Availability all year round, Monday to Friday. Weekend tours may be available on request.
